Hats And Booties for Mary Carmen

I made these forever ago… and finally got them uploaded.  It’s fun to make cutey baby booties and hats.  The fringe ones turned out so cute.  If I ever do those again, I’ll add turquoise pony beads to the booties.

Tassel Hat

IMG_1766

I made this for my neighbor’s granddaughter, and it turned out so cute! I did the same thing I do for my purse bodies; I chained the width I wanted, then did hdc along one side in one loop, turn, and hdc across the other side in the other loop of the foundation chain. I then built up spiral style till I was satisfied. I added the tassels at the corner and called it good. SO CUTE.

Violets Hat and Scarf Set

I made this hat and scarf set for a dear friend.  She said she loved violets, so I made a green hat and scarf and several bright, deep, purple violets I attached to the completed hat and scarf.

I used Caron’s Simply Soft, which is my favorite worsted weight yarn.  It is soft and easy to work with, and as long as it’s treated gently in the wash, will stay soft for a long time.

I made each one of the violets with a ring of 5 sc, then the petals 2ch, 2trch, 2ch, and a french knot for the yellow. I used fabric glue to reinforce the french knots on the backs of the flowers and hand sewed them on with dark green thread.
